Understanding card conditions

Sellers grade their cards using five standard condition categories:

• NM (Near Mint): Looks new, with no visible wear.

• LP (Lightly Played): Minor wear, such as slight edge wear or light scuffing.

• MP (Moderately Played): Noticeable wear, such as scratches, scuffing, or minor bends.

• HP (Heavily Played): Significant wear, including major scuffing, bending, or staining.

• Damaged: Major structural damage, such as tears, water damage, or heavy creasing.

Grading is somewhat subjective, and reasonable people can disagree on borderline cases. Sellers are expected to grade conservatively. If you are unsure about a specific card's condition, check the listing photos, if any have been uploaded, or message the seller before buying.
